After decades of experience building luxurious custom homes, we had a vision to bring the same caliber of design excellence and craftsmanship to panelized homes in Idaho and the surrounding Northwest. Why? We surveyed the market and found that existing solutions force clients to make unreasonable compromises.
During the time that Dan spent in New Zealand, he was exposed to the methods many New Zealand builders employed, pre-framing off-site and the use of panelized wall units, and it was there that the idea which has since become ME.Homes, was born.
As with many ideas, ME.Homes sat somewhat idle while Dan and Lyn raised their children along with a successful construction company (McMahon and Easterbrook Custom Building LLC). Yet, like all great ideas, it was constantly being mulled over and chewed upon. Now, after much contemplation, we are pleased to introduce our visionary concept of panelized housing- ME.Homes.
Panelized Homes – Core Principals:
- Superior Finish – Whether you choose a basic studio model with minimalist amenities or a fully featured family home with attached garage, we maintain the same high standard of quality and competitive pricing.
- Panelized, Not Modular – With our designs, you aren’t limited to a predetermined footprint and floor plan built with adjoining modules; our panels can be combined to suit almost any need and maintain an efficient build schedule.
- Sustainable – Our designs pursue a minimalist aesthetic, and our panels are systematically hand-crafted in a closed environment where we can reduce waste and locally source materials.
- Architecturally Designed – Our architects have years of experience designing high end custom homes, and their expertise is available to custom tailor a panelized home for you. Cookie cutters are good for sugar cookies – not your home.
Advantages of Panelized Construction
It is encouraging to see an interest developing in both pre-fabricated and modular building. We have chosen panelized for many reasons:
Traditionally, homes are built using materials that are assembled on the building site after being delivered. A great deal of time and labor is involved constructing in this fashion and while doing so materials are often exposed to the elements.
Why not deliver a finished product instead? Pre-fabricated and modular systems help alleviate this issue but are limited in size and shape and require expensive, often large, machinery to carry, lift and place units.
Consider then a panelized wall system built in a controlled environment; the panels are not restricted by size and arrive on the site fully assembled. The panels are set in place by smaller equipment, which cuts costs and opens up the feasibility of difficult building sites – perhaps a pocket-sized backyard or tree-filled mountainside. The whole system is efficient in time and resources, with the inherent ability to be adaptable, flexible and predictable.
Sustainable. Adaptable. Sensible.
